This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
Christmas is just around the corner and so is the agony of choice with the gifts. Many have spent weeks wondering what to give their loved ones. The shops are overflowing with items. Whether in the perfumery, the sports shop, electronics, clothing or bookstores, the variety is so enormous that you lose your nerve just by looking at it. What do I choose? What's the right thing? What is the perfect gift?
Impressive, the selection that is available to us.
But as impressive as this selection is, it can be numbing and often leads to the worry that in the end you did not choose the perfect one. The paradox of all the variety is that the bigger the selection, the more dissatisfied we are after we finally decided on one thing.
Have you already ordered something in the restaurant and after it was served you thought: Had I ordered the other one, my wife's dish looks much better? And suddenly you no longer like your food and the thought that you made the wrong decision takes away the joy of what you got!
The multitude of possibilities, which should apparently bring us joy and freedom, paralyze and capture us more and more out of panic in the end to decide for the wrong thing. But where does this fear come from?
It often has to do with the fact that we think we are entitled to the perfect life. We claim the perfect job, the perfect house, the perfect food, the perfect partner, a perfect body, the perfect future.
And whenever we have to make a decision, we pray to God that he presents us with the “perfect solution”. The truth is: nobody is entitled to a perfect life. We have no claim to a perfect Christmas, a perfect gift, the perfect partner, a perfect body - not even we Christians! Rather, they claim to be called the children of God, those who believe in God (John 1:12). And as children of God we can know that even if we have not always made the best choice or have the feeling of missing the perfect life - the Lord, my God, is with us wherever we go.
I hope that we are braver again when it comes to making decisions without fear of missing something. That we learn to live courageously with Jesus because we know HE will be with us wherever we go. I tell you: be strong and brave! Don't be afraid and don't despair. Because I, the Lord your God, am with you wherever you go.
With this in mind, I wish you and you a blessed Christmas season and lots of anticipation and courage for the year 2020.

Bible School Report - 2019
Each and every single of the 66 full time students that started Fall Bible School in September 2019 brought questions to Tauernhof. Some questions were clearly formulated, others emerged from weeks of prayer and contemplation, others never came to the surface, yet were visible in the student’s life in one way or the other.
During this past school-term, the Bible School Team and I had numerous private conversations with students. Oftentimes the students, without realizing it, sought easy answers to the questions they were and are struggling with.
But truth is, to most of the questions there are no easy answers. Of course, God can answer every single question we could possibly ever think of, yet sometimes it appears as if he is more interested in changing our question rather than answering our question.
Our summer season has just closed leaving us with fond memories. Mild weather and no technical issues made it a relaxing time and was one full of blessing as the Holy Spirit ministered among us. Some one hundred people participated in our discipleship courses and retreats as well as programs run with partner organisations such as the Moody Bible Institute, the Liebenzeller Mission and FCAP (Fellowship of Christian Airline Personal). We look forward to partnering with them again in the new year.
Some big changes however face us in the next months. The Kingfisher Project is to form its own board, becoming independent of Tauernhof Austria. Members are being sought to take this project into the future, to meet the needs of and impact generations to come. Further, building new facilities are about to start. Plans are about to be submitted to authorities for a 3 part building plan.
Pray with us for the following;
A clear understanding of the most suitable legal structure to facilitate the future of the Kingfisher Project and wisdom in drawing up its new constitution.
Suitable members that will form the new "Kingfisher" board.
Permissions from local authorities to proceed with building stage 1, being three apartments accomodating 18 - 20 guests / students.
For the financial recourses to go quickly into phase 2 a single building (kitchen / dinning room and meeting room), then phase 3 (2 more apartments), of the building project.
Pray also for full bookings in 2020 aboard the Encounter as these winter months is when most apply to come. Programs and other opportunities and can be found on our website, www.kingfisherproject.org,as well as more information and pictures to help you visualise this project.
We’re thankful for your support. For more details of ways that you could help, contact us at email@example.com

As some of you already know, I was diagnosed with bladder cancer in June. I look back on months in which 2 operating theaters, chemotherapy and a bilateral pulmonary embolism have thrown my life out of the ordinary. Rehabilitation begins at the end of December, followed by 5 weeks of radiation therapy.
Over the past few months, my wife Anna and I have seen that Jesus is very practical through His presence, through His peace, and through His people. I am very grateful to him for our wonderful team and that he gave our Lilli the power to manage the kitchen and that she now also has Doro at her side.
Because I experience God's care and support, I look to the future with confidence.
This verse has been with me since the summer and reminds me of a truth that applies to each of us:
"See, God has come to save me. I will trust in him and not be afraid. The Lord God is my strength and my song; he has given me victory.” Isaiah 12:2
Thank you for your prayers. I wish you a hopeful and blessed Christmas.
