HAVE NO FEAR

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous.
Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.
Joshua 1:9

All too often our lives are characterized by fear.
Fear of missing out if everything doesn't go according to my plans. Afraid of not reaching my goal. Afraid of not being in God's will. Fear of making wrong decisions. Afraid to miss life.
The young Joshua, who was now to take on the great tasks of Moses, was afraid. We know this because God has spoken to him several times: Don't be afraid.
Not only did Joshua live in an uncertain time, we are also in a time when much is uncertain. Will we still have work at the end of the year? Is there a second contagion wave from Corona? Can we ever go on vacation again without worry or hug our friends? Will the economy ever recover from the lock-down?
In the last few months I have realized again how much I love being a Christian. How grateful I am to be a “blood-bought” child of God.
I love opening my eyes in the morning and - despite challenges - waking up in hope. I love to know that my Creator watches over me and my family. I love to know that there are no surprises for God and that HE will never get to the point where HE says: I have no idea how to do it all. I love to know that every sin I've ever begun is washed away by the blood of Jesus. I love to know that I couldn't be forgiven anymore and that he couldn't love me more or less, no matter whether I would be a better person tomorrow or not.
Isn't it wonderful to be a Christian? Don't you also love to know that our present sufferings are meaningless compared to the glory He will later give us (Romans 8:18)?

Therefore: be strong and brave! Do not be afraid and do not despair. Because God, the Lord your God, is with you wherever you go!

Your Martin

TAUERNHOF NEWS

On June 28th we could start our summer leisure time as planned. Even if guests from overseas could not come, our leisure time is very well booked. We are grateful to God from the bottom of our hearts that we have been saved from illnesses and accidents up to now and can already look back on a few weeks of blessed encounters and experiences.
We are expecting a lot of students, mostly from Europe and Canada. The current, positive Corona situation makes it possible for us to hold our 12-week Bible school.
There are still some places available. If you are interested in participating, please email: registrar@tauernhofaustria.at.

Our Fall Bible School will start on September 20th.

NEW OFFERS

Leisure time, seminars and relaxation
In addition to our Bible schools and camps, we also want to make the Tauernhof available for church breaks and as a recreation center for individuals or couples.

In the months of April to June and September to December it is now possible to rent Tauernhof as a small group of up to 25 people as part of a community or house group leisure time.
Relaxation for individuals or couples

A challenging work life, stress in everyday life, responsibilities in the family can sometimes "bring the barrel to overflow".

In the middle season (April - June & September - December) Tauernhof is a very good place to relax.

FINANCES

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you very much for all supporters! Thanks to your generous donations, we got through the lock-down well.
In addition, your donations will help us to reduce the number of participants due to cancellations by Corona and the canceled Spring Bible School.

Before the summer camps, we decided to offer the summer card in addition to be able to carry out any activities better (transport with public lines, use of the gondolas, etc. It was unclear for a long time which activities we were allowed to carry out due to Covid)
Each summer card costs us an average of € 39 per person for the week. In July we had additional costs of approx. € 10,000, - Unfortunately we could no longer include the additional costs in the camp contributions.

We are very grateful to be able to offer our guests this additional offer and look forward to any support in order to be able to cope with the additional costs. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

Lilli says goodbye

Our former co-cook, Lilli Friesen, has decided on a new adventure after a year of service. She will move to Africa with her husband to work on a missionary project there. We are happy for you and thank you very much for your short but very valuable service with us at the Tauernhof. For their service in Africa, we pray for preservation and, above all, a lot of blessing in a “slightly different” environment.
Larissa says goodbye

After more than two years in our bookshop, Larissa has returned to her homeland. With a lot of love and commitment, she advised and looked after our customers in the best possible way. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your great commitment in the bookstore, but also in other areas at Tauernhof. We wish Larissa all the best and God's blessings for her future.
Support for the kitchen

My name is Frederick, I am 27 years old and I grew up in Biberach, Upper Swabia. I lived next to the Baltic Sea the past four years, and completed my schooling to become a cook there. I had never heard about Tauernhof before, but my sister (who attended bible school at Schloss Klaus) and also someone from my church enthusiastically told me that Tauernhof was searching for a cook and I should definitely apply for the position. Now I’ve had the privilege of working as a Tauernhof cook since the end of June.

A verse that has become significant in my life is the demand to be thankful in 1. Thessalonians 5:18. “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” I’m excited to be here and can say from the bottom of my heart that God has led me to this place.

Our Dessert Queen

My name is Magdalena. I'm 28 years old and I grew up in Dillenburg, but at the age of 18 I moved to Saarbrücken to complete my schooling to become a pastry chef, where I lived for 9 years. Through different events I left Saarland at the end of 2019 and moved close to Trier to start a new job there. In the spring of 2020 I found myself jobless due to the coronavirus. During this free time, the desire arose in me again to serve Jesus with everything that I am. At this point God had already prepared everything and put me in a position where I knew he was up to something, but I wasn’t sure yet what it was. In this way I was able to enjoy the time of rest and just trust God. A friend of mine then sent me the job posting from Tauernhof, and God made it very clear to me that he desired me to be there. Here I am able to serve God with all my heart through my occupation, my belief and my relationships to other people.

“‘For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,’ declares the Lord. ‘As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.’” Isaiah 55:8-9
